Police were quick to respond to an incident in the town centre at around 4 o'clock in the afternoon yesterday.

Thames Valley Police said they were enforcing a PSPO (public space protection order) as people were seen drinking in the street.

They added that the big response was because of the number

A local business owner, who did not wish to be named said: "The same people are there nearly everyday, drinking and shouting at people just walking by.

"It looks as though they are selling drugs too - it just makes town a horrible place to come to.

"It's about time the police did something. It's been going on for ages."

Thames Valley Police issued the following statement:

"Officers attended Buckingham Street, Aylesbury yesterday (17/9) at around 4.15pm to assist in enforcing the PSPO that is in place in relation to street drinking.

"A number of officers were already enforcing the order however additional officers arrived to support them with this due to the large number of people present."
