Five star hygiene rating for Aylesbury kebab takeaway

An Aylesbury takeaway is back to its usual ‘Five Star’ service after its latest hygiene inspection

A food hygiene inspection back in December last year left Alkebabish, at Cambridge Street, with a one star rating.

Its owner Mr Bilal Fayyaz says the news was a real blow for the staff and the business. And even though it meant they could continue trading they wanted to sort it out.

“The inspector had spoken to some new members of staff who had answered questions about temperatures incorrectly,” he said.

Keen to put things right as quickly as possible the business booked another inspection and a few weeks later the rating was upgraded to three stars.

But, Mr Fayyaz says, although that is good they were not going to rest until they’d regained the five star status that they have held for some time.

“There were a few little things, like a bin without a lid, that needed sorting out. But that’s all been done and now we’re back to having five stars,” said a delighted Mr Fayyaz.

What you say

And it’s not just the Food Standards Agency that has given the food five stars.  The kebab shop’s customers have reviewed their kebabs, fried chicken, spicy wings, nuggets, burgers, and chicken strips and given them the full five stars too!

In February Nic’s five star review said “Chicken was perfectly seasoned, juicy, crispy, amazing. Veg in the wrap was fresh. Good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.”

In March Cliff said: “great food and delivery”, whilst in February Gareth posted: “Even on a Tuesday at midnight you get perfect hot food. Great fresh flavours. loved every bite. Thanks.”
