Smelling of roses at summer showcase for top gardeners
Entries were well down on previous shows as were the number of visitors on show day, held at the Stewart Hall, Little Kimble, on Sunday, July 3.
Nevertheless, organisers reported that the standard of exhibits were of high standard despite the very variable weather over the last few weeks and the display was very colourful.

Hide AdThe trophy for most points in the show overall was won by David Ridgeway.
Rod Pengelly virtually swept the board in the rose classes including best exhibit in show and most points in the rose classes.
Kathy Gray won the cup for most points in the sweet pea classes and best sweet pea exhibit.
Graham Talbot won the master class and Sue Towersey won two floral art classes and window box.
The society holds its autumn show on Sunday, September 4.

Hide AdThe society meetings are held at 8pm every first Tuesday of the month (except January and August) at the Stewart Hall. It welcomes expert speakers, and all talks are very informal and are followed by refreshments and a raffle.
